Fonseka2010 writes to MoD Website

RE: Continued censoring to General Sarath Fonseka

Dear Administrators,

The website of the MoD was established by General Sarath Fonseka to defeat the well oiled propaganda machine of the Tiger terrorists and their overseas supporters.

For three years, as the General led his troops to victory in the jungles of Wanni, spilling blood and sweat, the MoD website, Defence.lk, provided much needed encouragement to troops and patriots around the world. It also gave accurate and timely updates of ground situation to the international community. Defence.lk was as important in winning the propaganda war as our troops were in winning the ground one.

However, lately, you have become the personal website of the President and and his family.

There are many events involving General Fosneka that have not been mentioned in the Defence website that was actually set-up by the General.

You did not report
  • General's visit to Mahanayake of The Asgiriya Chapter on 17 August,
  • People of Jaffna thanking the General on 19 August,
  • General's visit to Vavuniya on 20 August and
  • General's speech at management seminar on 20 August.

We see this as a systematic campaign to censor news involving the good works of General Sarath Fonseka. Missing one event is an oversight, but continued denial of even the existence of the greatest military mind in the world points to sinister motives.

We hope that you will take this issue seriously.

We expect the MoD website to inform all Sri Lankans of all good work done by General Sarath Fonseka, who freed our motherland from the scourge of terrorism.

Sincerely,
“People's Fonseka2010” Campaign Team
